09 September 2026 - Autumn and Winter Exhibitions in the West Midlands: Make Your Stand Work Harder

Autumn might mean darker evenings and colder weather, but inside the West Midlands’ exhibition halls things are only getting busier. Birmingham, Solihull and Coventry have a packed programme of trade shows, consumer events, business expos and industry exhibitions running through the rest of 2026 and into the opening months of 2027.

If your company is exhibiting, simply turning up with a desk, two chairs and a pile of brochures isn’t always enough. Exhibition visitors have hundreds of stands competing for their attention, so giving them a reason to stop, interact and spend a little longer with your team can make a real difference.

That’s where Tom’s Lights Events can help. Our Exhibition Hire range includes interactive games, arcade equipment, branded activities and LED Furniture Hire for exhibition stands throughout Birmingham and the West Midlands.

September Starts the Exhibition Season at Full Speed

There’s very little easing into autumn this year. September brings several significant events to Birmingham and Solihull, covering industries and audiences that couldn’t be more different.

The Emergency Services Show: 16–17 September 2026

The NEC Birmingham hosts The Emergency Services Show on 16 and 17 September. The show brings together professionals from police, fire and rescue, ambulance, search and rescue, voluntary organisations and the wider public-safety sector.

For exhibitors, this is the sort of professional environment where an interactive attraction can help break the ice without taking attention away from the serious purpose of the stand.

A Branded Buzz Wire, for example, can turn a straightforward visitor conversation into a quick challenge while keeping your company branding directly in front of the participant. Our wider Interactive Games range offers plenty of other ways to encourage visitors to stop rather than walk past.

If you’re heading there as an exhibitor, take a look at our Exhibition Hire at the NEC Birmingham service.

Birmingham TCG Show: 19–20 September 2026

A few days later, Birmingham changes direction completely with the Birmingham TCG Show at the Quaid-E-Azam Grand Ballroom on 19 and 20 September.

Trading-card events already have a strongly interactive audience, so entertainment that fits the collecting, gaming and prize culture can work particularly well. The Prize Crane Arcade Grabber is an obvious possibility where organisers or exhibitors want to incorporate prizes, giveaways or promotional items into their space.

Arcade Games can also complement gaming and collector events without feeling out of place.

The Midlands Business Network Expo: 25 September 2026

On 25 September, businesses head to the National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull for The Midlands Business Network Expo.

This is a B2B environment built around exhibiting, networking and starting conversations. That makes engagement particularly valuable. A game doesn’t need to dominate a stand; it can simply give somebody an easy reason to stop for thirty seconds, which creates an opportunity for your team to begin talking.

The Giant Buzz Wire, Football Table or a compact arcade product can all perform that job in very different ways.

UK Construction Week Brings a Huge Industry Audience to Birmingham

UK Construction Week Birmingham takes place at the NEC from 29 September to 1 October 2026.

Construction, equipment, technology, safety, training, sustainability and building products will all be represented, creating a busy environment filled with demonstrations and suppliers competing for the attention of industry visitors.

That competition makes stand interaction important.

If hundreds of exhibitors are presenting products and services in the same building, your stand needs some kind of reason for a visitor to change direction and come towards you. A challenge, game or competition can provide exactly that.

Use Competition to Generate Leads

One of the simplest exhibition ideas is also one of the most effective: give visitors a score to beat.

Equipment from our Interactive Games range can be used for quick competitions throughout the exhibition day. Products such as the Interactive Dartboard and Interactive Penalty Shootout give visitors a straightforward challenge that can be completed without taking up their entire afternoon.

You can turn that into a leaderboard, daily prize competition or lead-generation mechanic.

For example, visitors could:

  • register their details before playing;
  • attempt the challenge;
  • have their score added to a leaderboard;
  • return later to see whether they’ve been beaten;
  • enter a prize draw linked to the activity.

Suddenly the entertainment has a commercial purpose rather than simply filling floor space.

The Motorhome & Caravan Show: 13–18 October 2026

October brings the Motorhome & Caravan Show to the NEC from 13 to 18 October.

It’s a substantial consumer exhibition covering motorhomes, caravans, accessories, touring and camping. For brands exhibiting over several days, maintaining stand traffic becomes important because the show isn’t a one-afternoon event.

Interactive games can provide something repeatable that works throughout the exhibition, while seating can be just as useful when longer customer conversations are part of the sales process.

Make Visitors Comfortable with LED Furniture

Not every stand needs to shout.

Sometimes the goal is to encourage somebody to stay long enough for a useful conversation. Our LED Furniture Hire range can help exhibitors create informal meeting and hospitality areas without relying on ordinary conference furniture.

Depending on your stand design, options include the LED Poser Table Hire, LED Bench Hire, LED Bean Bag Seat Hire and LED Curved Bar Hire.

That can be particularly useful for businesses holding demonstrations, sales discussions or informal meetings throughout the show.

Exhibition Stands Don’t Need to Be All Work

A professional stand can still be enjoyable.

Visitors spend hours walking exhibition halls, collecting information and having similar conversations with different suppliers. An activity gives them a brief change of pace.

Our Arcade Games can work particularly well here. A Arcade Cabinet, Arcade Dartboard, Boxing Punchbag Machine or Prize Crane Arcade Grabber can create an entertainment point without requiring visitors to understand complicated rules.

And because people naturally watch other people playing, one participant can sometimes attract several more.

November Keeps the West Midlands Exhibition Calendar Moving

The approach of Christmas certainly doesn’t mean Birmingham’s exhibition halls close down.

WARF Expo: 26 November 2026

The WARF Expo is scheduled for 26 November at the National Conference Centre in Solihull, bringing another B2B audience into the region.

Business expos are ideal places for simple participation-based activities. When attendees are actively networking, anything that makes an introduction easier can help your stand team get the conversation started.

Motorcycle Live: 21–29 November 2026

The NEC also hosts Motorcycle Live from 21 to 29 November. It’s one of the major dates on the UK motorcycling calendar, with manufacturers, equipment, accessories and other motorcycle businesses exhibiting over nine days.

For brands involved in automotive, motorcycle, insurance, accessories, lifestyle or related markets, interactive stand equipment can help reinforce a more energetic brand presentation.

Products such as the Boxing Punchbag Machine, buzz wires and competitive games can fit naturally into an exhibition where visitors are already looking for things to see and try.

Christmas Exhibitions and Winter Business Events

November and December also bring Christmas fairs, business events, staff functions, winter markets and end-of-year promotional activity throughout Birmingham and the West Midlands.

For exhibitors who want something seasonal, our Christmas Parties range gives you another route. Selected Christmas games can provide a seasonal activity without requiring the entire stand to be rebuilt around a festive theme.

You could also combine seasonal entertainment with LED furniture to make winter event spaces feel warmer and more inviting.

February 2027: Exhibition Season Starts Again Quickly

There isn’t much of a post-Christmas lull either.

SPATEX: 2–4 February 2027

SPATEX runs from 2 to 4 February at the Coventry Building Society Arena, bringing together businesses from the swimming pool, spa, wellness and water-leisure industries.

If you’re exhibiting in Coventry, our Exhibition Hire at the Coventry Building Society Arena service can support your stand with interactive entertainment, games and furniture.

Because SPATEX is a specialist industry exhibition, the entertainment doesn’t need to overpower the products you’re actually there to sell. A compact game or comfortable meeting area may be all that’s required to improve the stand.

Spring Fair: 7–10 February 2027

Just days later, the NEC hosts Spring Fair from 7 to 10 February 2027.

For businesses in retail, home, gift and fashion, this is a major opportunity to put products in front of professional buyers. With so many suppliers concentrated in one venue, exhibitors need to think carefully about how the stand looks from the aisle and what will make buyers stop.

LED furniture can help define meeting areas, while an appropriate branded or interactive attraction can support promotions, launches and competitions.

Looking Further into 2027

The West Midlands exhibition calendar continues well beyond winter.

The National Homebuilding & Renovating Show is currently scheduled at the NEC for 11–14 March 2027, followed later in spring by the Commercial Vehicle Show from 20–22 April. That means businesses already planning their 2027 exhibition programme have good reason to start thinking about stand equipment now.

Our Exhibition Hire range can support businesses from very different industries because the fundamental challenge is often the same: get noticed, encourage interaction and create opportunities for conversations.

What Can Tom’s Lights Events Add to an Exhibition Stand?

There isn’t one standard exhibition package. Different stands need different things.

A small B2B stand might only need one interactive game. A large corporate space could use several activities, illuminated furniture and a dedicated competition area. A consumer show might be better suited to arcade machines or prize-based entertainment.

Depending on your plans, we can provide:

Think About Dwell Time, Not Just Footfall

Getting somebody onto the stand is only the first part of the job.

If an activity keeps a visitor there for another minute, gives your salesperson a natural opening question or encourages somebody to come back later to check a leaderboard, it has done more than simply provide entertainment.

That’s why we like interactive exhibition equipment. It can contribute directly to the way visitors move through your stand.

Turn Giveaways into Activities

If you’re already planning to give away branded merchandise or prizes, consider making visitors earn them.

A prize crane can hold promotional items. A buzz wire can determine whether somebody qualifies for a giveaway. A sports game can produce a daily high score. An arcade competition can create a reason to post results on social media during the show.

The prize isn’t necessarily the most important bit. The interaction around it is what gives your team the opportunity to engage.

Exhibition Hire at the NEC Birmingham

The NEC is one of the most important exhibition venues in the region and features heavily throughout the autumn, winter and spring calendar.

Our Exhibition Hire at the NEC Birmingham service can support businesses attending events such as The Emergency Services Show, UK Construction Week, the Motorhome & Caravan Show, Motorcycle Live and Spring Fair.

Whether you need one game or a more substantial entertainment setup, speak to us about the size of your stand, the audience and what you want the equipment to achieve.

Exhibition Hire in Solihull and Coventry

The NEC isn’t the only option.

Solihull hosts business events at venues such as the National Motorcycle Museum and National Conference Centre, while Coventry Building Society Arena has its own busy programme of exhibitions and business events.

We work throughout Solihull, Birmingham, Coventry and the wider West Midlands, allowing us to support exhibitors at venues throughout the region.

Make Your Next Exhibition More Interactive

Autumn and winter 2026 give West Midlands businesses plenty of opportunities to exhibit, and the calendar is already filling up again for early 2027.

If you’ve booked the stand, ordered the graphics and sorted the literature, ask one more question: what is going to make somebody stop?

That might be a branded buzz wire. It might be an arcade machine. It might be a leaderboard challenge, a prize grabber or simply a comfortable LED seating area where you can actually have a proper conversation.

Browse our Exhibition Hire range to see the possibilities, or use our contact page to tell Tom’s Lights Events where you’re exhibiting and what you’d like your stand to achieve.

From Birmingham and Solihull to Coventry and venues throughout the West Midlands, we can help give visitors another reason to stop at your stand.
